Today I thought I’d share 5 beauty products which have impressed me, that I already have repurchased or will repurchase again. If you’re a busy mum then I’m sure you’ll love these multi-tasking and time-saving products too.
-Sleep Mask Tan Face by James Read Tan
This was a fluke purchase at Mecca. I was at the counter about to pay for some other ‘necessities’ and this product was a last minute grab to try it out. I liked the idea of slapping a gel on my face and sleeping in it while it hydrates and tans at the same time. I’ll be honest and say that while I don’t love the smell of this opaque looking gel, it does create a beautiful, super natural looking tan and doesn’t destroy your pillow case (win!). It’s easy to use wth no lines or streaks developing on your face and I love how you can build it up by using it for a few nights in a row. I should add that I do have quite fair skin and it’s a very natural effect- if you’re looking for a deep colour then this one isn’t for you. If you look it up you’ll see that Rosie Huntingdon-Whitely is a fan. If it’s good enough for Rosie… ($46 here)
-H2O Face Mist (James Read Tan)
I was so impressed with the above Sleep Mask that, as my bottle dwindled, I decided to add this one to my cart and it also deserves a special mention (and no, neither have been gifted and this is not a sponsored post). This product works beautifully to create a natural-looking, buildable ‘healthy glow’ on your face. The smell of this mist is much nicer than the sleep mask as it contains rose water. If I have forgotten to put the sleep mask on I can spray this beauty any time during the day to start building up some colour. The only downside to this one is that it stings if you get it in your eyes- which I seem to do all the time as I get a bit spray-happy ($37 here)
-Cordura Eyeshadow Duo (NARS)
I used to take multiple eyeshadow palettes, duos and pots away with me if we travelled anywhere ‘just on case’. I pretty much had a whole makeup bag bulging with pots and palettes in case some type of fun emergency came up where I would suddnenyl require and have the energy to create a purple smokey eye, or a golden ombre look, or a maybe a berry-hued eye. The emergency has never occurred so now I just take this, as it covers all bases. It’s described as a ‘shimmering warm rich brown and shimmering sooty dark brown’. I can sweep and smudge the lighter colour over my lids during the day (or if I don’t have much time) and if I do have the extra time I’ll use both shades and blend them together for a beautiful look that’s smokey, shimmery and beautiful ($52 here)
I have repurchased this moisturiser countless times and nearly always have one in the top drawer of our bathroom cabinet (where I put my most used bits and pieces). It’s not overtly tinted, and not even described as a tinted moisturiser, but as you rub it into your skin it seems to work magic by evening out your skin tone and making it look amazing. This is such a great product for time-poor mums just want to put one product on in the morning, It makes your skin feel nice, look nice as it also has an SPF15 in it ($53 here)
-Flash Rinse 1 Minute Facial (REN)
This product is impressive. You rub it onto your dry skin in little circles and can feel it gently polishing. Perhaps gentle isn’t the right word because to me the word ‘gentle’ implies subtle results but you can REALLY feel this working to buff your face and make it silky smooth. You wet your fingers and- BOOM! -Vitamin C is activated in a serum which feels (and smells) invigorating, improves skin elasticity, and evens out skintone. This product is fast and easy to use and a lot cheaper than a professional facial ($61 here)
Please let me know if you decide to give any of these products a whirl, I’d love to hear from you. Or, if you have already discovered one of these gems, comment below!
